US and Israel Attack Iran's Natanz Nuclear Facility
The United States (US) and Israel have attacked Iran’s Natanz nuclear facility. The US-Israel attack was reported by the Islamic Republic’s atomic energy organisation amid the Eid al-Fitr atmosphere.
“Following the criminal attack by the United States and the Zionist regime that seized power in our country, the Natanz enrichment complex was targeted this morning,” the organisation stated in a statement carried by the Tasnim news agency, as reported by AFP on Saturday (21/3/2026).
It added that “no radioactive material leaks have been reported” in the area in central Iran.
Thousands of Iranian Muslims are known to be celebrating Eid al-Fitr, which falls on Saturday, 21 March 2026, in Iran. Eid prayers mark the end of the Ramadan fast amid the raging war in the Middle East.
As reported by AFP on Saturday (21/3), Iranian citizens performed Eid al-Fitr prayers, marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan a day after most other Muslim countries.
At dawn, crowds of worshippers gathered at the Grand Imam Khomeini Mosque in central Tehran, named after the founder of the Islamic Republic.
Due to space limitations, many worshippers performed prayers outside, with state television broadcasting images of the crowded areas around the mosque, despite the risk of attacks.
