US and Iran Officially Sign War Peace MOU, Here Are the Full 14 Points
The United States (US) and Iran have reportedly officially signed a peace agreement, particularly concerning the opening of the Strait of Hormuz, on Wednesday local time. The signing was reportedly conducted online.
However, on Thursday (18/6/2026), Axios reported that a direct signing will take place on Friday at the G-7 meeting in Switzerland. It is unclear what prompted the signing to occur twice.
Nevertheless, several media outlets have detailed the 14 points of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the two nations. The full points are as follows:
The United States and the Islamic Republic of Iran, along with their allies in the current war, by signing this MOU, declare an immediate and permanent cessation of military operations on all fronts, including in Lebanon, and pledge henceforth not to initiate any war or military operations against each other, and to refrain from threats or use of force against one another and ensure the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Lebanon. The final agreement will confirm the permanent cessation of war on all fronts, including in Lebanon and other provisions in this paragraph.
The United States and the Islamic Republic of Iran pledge to respect each other’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, and not to interfere in each other’s internal affairs.
The United States and the Islamic Republic of Iran commit to negotiate and reach a final agreement within a maximum of 60 days, which may be concluded by mutual consent.
Immediately after the signing of this MOU, the United States will begin lifting its naval blockade and any interference or obstruction against the Islamic Republic of Iran, and will completely end the naval blockade within 30 days. During this period, ship traffic will be restored by the Islamic Republic of Iran to levels comparable to pre-war traffic. The United States further pledges to withdraw its forces from the territory of the Islamic Republic of Iran within 30 days of the final agreement.
After the signing of this MOU, the Islamic Republic of Iran will make best-effort arrangements for a safe passage for commercial vessels at no cost for 60 days solely from the Persian Gulf to the Sea of Oman and vice versa. Commercial ship traffic will commence immediately, and given the need to remove technical and military obstacles and the clearance of mines by the Islamic Republic of Iran, will be enforced within 30 days. The Islamic Republic of Iran will engage in dialogue with the Sultanate of Oman to determine the future governance and maritime services in the Strait of Hormuz, in discussion with other coastal states of the Persian Gulf in line with applicable international law and the sovereign rights of the coastal states of the Strait of Hormuz.
The United States and its regional partners pledge to develop a mutually agreed definitive plan with funds of at least USD $300 billion (Rp5,400 trillion) for the reconstruction and economic development of the Islamic Republic of Iran. The implementation mechanism for this plan will be finalised as part of the final agreement within 60 days. All necessary licences, waivers, and authorisations for related financial transactions will be provided by the United States.
The United States pledges to end all types of sanctions against the Islamic Republic of Iran, including UN Security Council resolutions, IAEA Board of Governors resolutions, and all unilateral US sanctions—both primary and secondary—on a schedule agreed as part of the final agreement. The Islamic Republic of Iran and the United States recognise the importance of the aforementioned sanctions termination issue and express their intention to promptly address this matter in negotiations to reach a mutual agreement on the issue.
The Islamic Republic of Iran reaffirms that it will not pursue or develop nuclear weapons. The United States and the Islamic Republic of Iran have agreed to resolve the disposition of enriched material stockpiles based on a mutually agreed mechanism according to the schedule mentioned in paragraph seven, with the minimum methodology being blending on-site under IAEA supervision. Both parties also agree to discuss enrichment issues and other mutually agreed matters related to the nuclear needs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, based on a satisfactory framework agreed in the final agreement. The final agreement will confirm the provisions of this paragraph. The United States and the Islamic Republic of Iran recognise the importance of the aforementioned nuclear issues and express their intention to promptly address these matters in negotiations to reach a mutual agreement on the issue.
Pending the final agreement, the United States and the Islamic Republic of Iran agree to maintain the status quo. The Islamic Republic of Iran will maintain the status quo of its nuclear programme and the United States will not impose new sanctions or deploy additional forces in the region.
The United States pledges that immediately after the signing of this MOU and until the termination of sanctions, the US Department of the Treasury will issue waivers for the export of Iranian crude oil, petroleum products and their derivatives, and all related services, including banking transactions, insurance, transportation, and others.
The United States pledges to fully make available the funds and assets of the Islamic Republic of Iran that have been frozen or restricted in use. After this MOU is implemented, the United States and the Islamic Republic of Iran will mutually agree on procedures related to the release of these funds during negotiations. These funds, whether held in original accounts or transferred, will be fully usable for payments to final recipients designated by the central bank of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
