Washington — The United States, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Bahrain, and several other Middle Eastern nations have issued a joint statement characterising Iran’s retaliatory action as a “dangerous escalation.”

The statement was supported by authorities from the United States, Bahrain, Jordan, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates, according to reporting from Sputnik on Monday, 2 March.

“Iran’s action constitutes a dangerous escalation that violates the sovereignty of a number of countries and threatens regional stability,” stated the joint statement published by the US State Department.

“Targeting civilians and nations not involved in the conflict constitutes reckless and destabilising conduct,” the statement added.

The countries also condemned the attack and declared it unjustifiable.

“We stand together in defence of our citizens, sovereignty, and territory, and we reaffirm our right to self-defence in response to these attacks,” the US State Department stated.

“We remain committed to regional security and appreciate the effective air and missile defence cooperation that has prevented far greater loss of life and damage,” the statement concluded.
