US Vice President J.D. Vance admitted there is a possibility that attacks carried out by US forces may have unintentionally hit civilians. The statement was made by Vance on Thursday (3/9), amidst circulating reports regarding a US strike on a civilian wedding party in southern Iran.

“The US never targets civilians in combat. We would never do that. We also would not be able to do that. However, unfortunately, it is clear that something may have happened. When our military makes mistakes, they learn from those mistakes so they can improve themselves,” said Vance.

“The US is also investigating the incident,” he added.

Iranian authorities stated that a wedding ceremony in Sirik, Hormozgan, on Tuesday night (1/9), was the target of a US attack, causing five deaths and approximately 70 injuries.

Esmaeil Baghaei, spokesperson for the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated that the ‘atrocious’ attack hit a residential area in the town of Kuhestak in the early hours of Wednesday.

Press TV Iran reported that at least five people were killed.
