Three days after Idul Fitri, newcomers began to flow in from
the regions to Jakarta. They are potential household maids,
vendors, and job seekers who are trying their luck in this
metropolitan city.

Many working housewives need the services of housemaids
because that will spare them from doing petty work in the house
when they return home from work. But housemaids are often not
satisfied with their old bosses and small pay, so when returning
to Jakarta they try to find new work with higher salary.

This situation opens the opportunity for the newcomers to fill
the vacancies. And Jakarta can do nothing to stop them from
coming.
