Urban Farming on Rooftops
Public officers from the Public Infrastructure and Facilities Management Unit (PPSU) tend to rice plants on the rooftop of the Tangki sub-district office in West Jakarta, Friday (15/5/2026). The 50 square metre and 30 square metre rooftop areas are being used by PPSU officers and the local PKK (Family Welfare Empowerment) to create an urban farming area, planted with various fruits, vegetables, rice, medicinal plants, and tilapia aquaculture, as a concrete manifestation of a food security programme that provides economic value to the sub-district.
