Uproar and Emotion at Palace Open House, Mothers Weep as They Embrace Prabowo

President Prabowo Subianto greeted, shook hands with, and embraced members of the public attending the open house at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Saturday (17/3). Prabowo arrived at the Presidential Palace around 3:00 p.m. WIB. He wore a white koko shirt, black trousers, and a black peci. The President’s greeting to the citizens was accompanied by his son Didit Hediprasetyo, who wore a blue koko shirt and a black peci. Upon entering the event room, Prabowo immediately shook hands and extended Eid al-Fitr greetings to those present. The public welcomed him with great enthusiasm to shake the President’s hand. This moment of bonding was deeply memorable for the attendees. In fact, some were seen crying. An elderly woman appeared to reach for Prabowo’s body, then hugged him, patted his back, and cried. Prabowo seemed to accept the hug and tried to comfort the woman. During this bonding event, the President was also accompanied by the State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya. The open house was attended by 4,000 to 5,000 people from afternoon to evening. Additional facilities in the form of tents were provided in the outdoor area to accommodate visitors if the indoor capacity was full. The event featured various food offerings, including traditional Lebaran dishes like ketupat. Simple entertainment was also prepared for children who came with their families. The opening of the Palace to the public during the Lebaran moment follows the same pattern as previous years, where citizens are given the opportunity to visit and bond in the Presidential Palace environment.
