UPPKB Way Urang Lampung to be used as rest area during Eid homecoming season

Bandarlampung — The Land Transport Management Centre (BPTD) Class II Lampung has announced that the Vehicle Weighing Implementation Unit (UPPKB) Way Urang in South Lampung will be utilised as a rest area during the 2026 Eid homecoming season.

“During the 2026 Eid homecoming transport period, UPPKB Way Urang will be reactivated and converted into a rest area for homebound travellers,” said Jonter Sitohang, head of the BPTD Class II Lampung, in Bandarlampung on Saturday.

He stated that the measure is intended to assist the public undertaking the journey home so they can rest whilst travelling through the UPPKB Way Urang area.

“UPPKB Way Urang covers approximately 1.9 hectares, which is sufficiently spacious to serve as a rest area,” he said.

With an area of 1.9 hectares, UPPKB Way Urang is capable of accommodating approximately 200 vehicles, he explained.

In addition to UPPKB Way Urang, the Terminal Type A Betan Subing in Central Lampung will also be operational as a rest area during the 2026 Eid homecoming season.

“Terminal Betan Subing Terbanggi Besar in Central Lampung has an area of 24,705 square metres and has already been prepared with 14 staff members to assist the public,” he said.

UPPKB Way Urang, which will temporarily function as a rest area during the 2026 Eid season, has prepared 39 personnel to assist the public. The facility has a four-wheeled vehicle parking capacity of 50 units and a two-wheeled vehicle parking capacity of 150 units.
