Upon Arrival at KPK, Yaqut Officially Returns to Detention in State Prison

Former Minister of Religious Affairs Yaqut Cholil Qoumas has officially returned to detention in a state prison (rutan) under the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK). He arrived at the KPK on Tuesday afternoon (24/3) after undergoing a medical examination since the previous night.

Yaqut arrived around 10:40 WIB. He did not say much upon arrival at the KPK.

He only mentioned that he had paid respects to his mother on Eid when he received house arrest status.

“Alhamdulillah, I was able to pay respects to my mother, to my mum,” he said briefly.

Meanwhile, KPK Deputy for Enforcement and Execution Asep Guntur Rahayu stated that the transfer of Yaqut’s detention status from house arrest to state prison detention was carried out since yesterday, Monday (23/3).

However, Yaqut could not be immediately executed because he first had to undergo a medical examination.

The chosen location was RS Polri Kramatjati, which is near Yaqut’s residence.

Asep also said that Yaqut’s return to the prison was because there is already a schedule for questioning related to the Hajj quota corruption case today.

“Tomorrow, we plan to have progress related to the handling of this Hajj quota,” he said.
