UPN Veteran's graduation

UPN Veteran Jakarta, a university under the Ministry of
Defense and Security, will graduate 1,475 students from various
study programs at the Jakarta Hilton Convention Center on
Saturday.

Brig. Gen. (Ret.) Soemari Prawirowiyono, rector of the
university, told Antara yesterday that 618 of the new graduates
come from financial and banking study programs, 476 from
accounting, 157 from computer science, 132 from textile studies,
66 from machine techniques and 26 from shipbuilding techniques.

Soemari said that since its establishment in 1962, the
university has passed 10,261 graduates.

He explained that his university has expanded its study
programs through the opening of economics, technical and medical
schools since the 1992/93 school year.

The Minister of Defense and Security is scheduled to deliver a
speech at the inauguration ceremony, Soemari said. (hhr)
