Village government services are increasingly required to be fast, practical, and integrated amid the growing needs of the community. Responding to this challenge, the Software Engineering Study Programme at Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia’s Cibiru campus has partnered with the apparatus and institutions of Cibiru Wetan Village to optimise the use of digital technology in public services.

The collaboration was carried out through a Community Service activity providing training on the use of Artificial Intelligence, particularly AI Agent, to help village officials automate routine and repetitive administrative work.

The activity coordinator, M. Iqbal Ardimansyah, explained that the use of AI Agent is expected to help village apparatus and institutions manage various work processes more effectively. The technology is combined with the N8N workflow automation platform so that a number of administrative processes can be integrated into a single flow.

“Imagine village officials having a personal digital assistant. When a resident submits a complaint, the AI Agent can help connect the process from one application to another,” he said.

According to Iqbal, information submitted through a complaint form, for example, can be directly forwarded to digital records and followed by sending notifications to village officials or relevant parties. With this pattern, village officials no longer have to manually transfer and process data from various applications. The AI Agent helps orchestrate the process so that apparatus can focus more on follow-up and resolving residents’ complaints.

During the training, participants were also assisted by Software Engineering students from UPI’s Cibiru campus, Elgy Sundari and Nur Fitriani. The students provided direct assistance to village apparatus and institutions during the practical sessions.

Iqbal said participants then practised creating an online-based resident complaint service. When residents fill in a complaint form via the internet, the data is automatically recorded in a digital table and the system sends a notification via email to village staff. Interestingly, the entire process can be created without having to write complex programme code. This makes it easier for participants to understand the application of automation to support daily work in the village government environment.

The Secretary of Cibiru Wetan Village, Ade Mahmudin, appreciated the training provided by the UPI Cibiru campus team. According to him, the material provided is relevant to the needs of administrative services in the village.

“Alhamdulillah, with the AI Agent training held by Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia’s Cibiru campus, it has greatly helped the continuity of Cibiru Wetan Village government services and increased our motivation to progress further,” he said.

Ade added that the use of this technology can support population administration services as well as the management of complaints, grievances, information, and suggestions submitted by the community.

One of the staff members of Cibiru Wetan Village institutions, Yuli, who attended the training, also assessed that the direct practical assistance provided benefits for activities in the field, including PKK activities.

“Thank you for the training provided because it is very useful, especially to support PKK activities in the field. The use of technology such as AI Agent certainly further strengthens Cibiru Wetan’s steps as a digital village,” she said.

Yuli hopes that technology-based innovations can continue to be developed to improve the quality of public services in Cibiru Wetan Village.

Through this Community Service activity, UPI’s Cibiru campus is encouraging Cibiru Wetan Village apparatus to become more independent in utilising digital technology. The use of AI Agent and automation is expected to be one of the steps to deliver faster, integrated, friendly, and modern public services for the community.
