Update on NTT Earthquake Victims: Death Toll Rises to 135

The number of fatalities resulting from the magnitude 7.7 earthquake in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) has risen again. As of today, 135 people have been reported dead.

“A total of 48 people died due to direct impacts, while 87 people died due to indirect impacts,” stated the official report from the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB), delivered by the Acting Head of the BNPB Disaster Data, Information, and Communication Centre, Berton SP Panjaitan, on Thursday (10/09/2026).

In addition, 1,762 people have sustained injuries due to the earthquake, while 60,572 residents have been forced to evacuate.

The BNPB also recorded that 98,986 houses have been damaged. The breakdown includes 26,089 heavily damaged houses, 22,505 moderately damaged houses, and 50,392 lightly damaged houses.

Meanwhile, damage to public facilities includes 712 educational facilities, 620 places of worship, and 157 health facilities. “A total of 663 office units were affected, 175 road points were damaged, and 47 irrigation facilities were impacted,” the BNPB report continued.
