Update on Bandung Confinement Victim's Condition: Feeling Calmer and Wishing to See Again
The victim of a confinement case in Bandung, YTR, has finally revealed her current condition. In a video call with Denny Sumargo, YTR admitted that her condition has started to improve after being reunited with her parents following the three-year ordeal.
“Alhamdulillah, I am getting better now after meeting my parents and while still in hospital,” she said, quoted from Denny Sumargo’s YouTube broadcast on Monday, 22 June 2026.
YTR also admitted that she now feels much calmer. She also expressed how much she missed her parents. “Now I feel calm because I have met my parents. I missed my mum and dad the most,” she said.
On the other hand, YTR now understands her physical condition after the three-year confinement and alleged violence. She is aware that several parts of her body suffered serious wounds and damage as a result of the incident. YTR also admitted that it is difficult to imagine what she endured for years. Despite this, she is now trying to focus on the recovery process while receiving medical treatment at the hospital.
“Right now, my legs are scarred, my eyes cannot see, and my ear is torn. I can’t imagine it,” she said.
During the session, YTR also expressed her wish to be able to see again as before. She also wants to return to work soon to help her parents financially.
The victim’s sister-in-law, Melanie, revealed that the victim suffered severe injuries to several parts of her body due to the alleged torture by the perpetrator, TH. For example, her right eye was damaged. “One is infected, the other has shrunk. The right eye is destroyed, the left one has shrunk,” she said, quoted from Denny Sumargo’s YouTube broadcast on Monday, 22 June 2026.
Meanwhile, the victim’s upper lip was reportedly almost gone after being cut with scissors and slashed, while several of her teeth were damaged or lost due to punches and impacts from hard objects. “According to the victim’s account, her lip was cut with scissors and slashed repeatedly. Her teeth are all gone, punched out. She was punched, hit with a helmet and a chair. Her knee has a deep wound from being hacked,” Melanie added.
