Update: Contraflow Implemented on Km 70-47 of Japek Toll Road Towards Jakarta

JAKARTA – PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol (JTT) has implemented a traffic engineering measure in the form of contraflow on the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road section. This policy is applied at the discretion of the police to anticipate the increase in vehicle volume during the Eid al-Fitr 1447H/2026 return flow period. The contraflow is in effect from kilometre 70 to kilometre 47 towards Jakarta starting at 15:48 WIB. The implementation of this traffic engineering is situational, adjusting to field conditions and the results of coordination between JTT and the police. Vice President of Corporate Secretary & Legal at PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol (JTT), Ria Marlinda Paallo, stated that contraflow is one of the strategies to ease vehicle density during the return flow. “The implementation of contraflow from kilometre 47 to 70 towards Jakarta is carried out at the discretion of the police as an effort to maintain smooth traffic flow and support the one-way local from kilometre 263 to 70 that is still in place during the Eid al-Fitr 1447H/2026 return flow period,” said Ria in her official statement on Saturday (28/3/2026). In addition, JTT urges all Trans Java toll road users to prioritise safety during their journeys. Drivers are asked to ensure that their physical condition and vehicles are in prime condition before driving. Road users are also reminded to maintain a safe distance, obey traffic signs, and follow the directions of on-site officers to avoid potential risks during the trip. Road users are advised to anticipate weather changes, ensure sufficient electronic money balance, and plan their journeys well.
