UOB Indonesia Expands Branch Transformation, Starting with Surabaya
PT Bank UOB Indonesia has transformed its Bukit Darmo branch in Surabaya, shifting its focus from purely transactional services to a more advisory-based model. The move is part of a broader strategy to optimise the bank’s network in line with evolving customer needs for more personalised financial solutions, including asset management, investment, financing, and insurance. W. Kartyono, Director of Transaction Banking & Channel Solutions at UOB Indonesia, stated that the branch was rebranded to remain relevant as customer demands change. The upgraded branch features a universal concept serving both individual and corporate clients, and includes modern facilities such as an Advisory Lounge and a knowledge-sharing area to support financial literacy. Kartyono noted that the bank does not intend to limit its focus to a single segment, despite the significant potential for affluent and wealth banking in West Surabaya. The Surabaya transformation marks the beginning of a series of branch updates, with Bali, Pondok Indah, and Pluit scheduled next. Through this network enhancement, UOB Indonesia aims to expand access to banking services and support business and investment needs in one of Indonesia’s key economic growth centres.
