Unveiling of Drug Smuggling Case via Merak Port

The Banten Regional Police (Polda Banten) has successfully uncovered a criminal case of narcotics distribution smuggled through the Merak Port ferry crossing, seizing evidence including 71 kilograms of methamphetamine (sabu), one firearm along with five bullets, and one vehicle in early March 2026. The operation was detailed during a press conference at the Banten Police Headquarters (Mapolda Banten) in Serang City, Banten, on Thursday (26/3/2026). Banten Police Chief Inspector General Pol Hengki, accompanied by Deputy Police Chief Brigadier General Pol Hendra Wirawan and Director of Narcotics Police AKBP Wiwin Setiawan, displayed the seized drugs, while Director of General Criminal Investigation Kombes Pol Dian Setyawan presented the firearm evidence.
