Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University (Untirta) has spoken out regarding the student with the initials MZ who was caught secretly recording his lecturer in a campus toilet. Untirta stated that the case is already being handled by the Task Force for the Prevention and Handling of Violence (PPK).

“Regarding this case, it is already being handled by the Task Force for the Prevention and Handling of Violence (PPK),” said Untirta’s public relations official, Adhitya Angga Pratama, when contacted on Tuesday (7/4/2026).

Angga explained that the victim is also receiving support from the PPK Task Force. When reporting to the police, the PPK Task Force also accompanied the victim.

“From the beginning when the task force received the report, support was immediately provided to the victim. The PPK Task Force is of course implementing the applicable SOP and regulations, including support for reporting to the Provincial Police,” he said.

Angga conveyed that the campus side will also impose firm sanctions on MZ. Sanctions will be given based on recommendations from the PPK Task Force.

“Sanctions in accordance with the applicable academic rules and guidelines. Later the task force will provide recommendations to serve as the basis for determining those sanctions, both in academic and legal aspects,” he stated.

Furthermore, Angga emphasised that his side is committed to keeping the campus as a safe, comfortable, inclusive place free from all forms of violence. Both physical violence and sexual violence.

“What is certain is that Untirta is committed to being a safe, comfortable, inclusive campus free from all forms of violence. This must be maintained together by the entire Untirta academic community,” he added.

Victim Reports to Banten Provincial Police

Previously, in a video circulating as seen by detikcom on Sunday (5/4), the alleged perpetrator was caught red-handed while carrying out his actions. The perpetrator appeared to be bowing his head when surrounded by many people at the location.

The Banten Provincial Police has received a report from the victim. The reporter is known by the initials LK, who works as a lecturer.

The report was received by the Banten Provincial Police on 2 April 2026, with the reported party having the initials MZ. In the report, the victim, as a lecturer, reported an alleged criminal act as regulated in Law Number 12 of 2022 concerning Sexual Violence Crimes (TPKS).

Head of Public Relations of Banten Provincial Police, Commissioner Maruli Ahiles Hutapea, said that his side will immediately follow up the report in accordance with applicable legal procedures. Investigators will summon parties who know or are related to the incident to gather statements and evidence.

“We will summon parties who know about this incident to be questioned, so that the case handling can proceed professionally, transparently, and in accordance with applicable legal provisions,” said Maruli.

Furthermore, he urged the public to remain calm and not speculate. Currently, the investigation process is still ongoing.

“We urge the public not to spread unverified information and to fully entrust the case handling process to the police,” he added.
