Until the End of Eid Return Flow, Pertamina Successfully Maintains Secure Energy Supply
PT Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Jawa Bagian Tengah recorded an increase in energy consumption during the Satuan Tugas Ramadan and Idulfitri (Satgas RAFI) period in 2026, in line with the high mobility of the public during the Eid exodus and return flow.
Daily realisation data showed that retail gasoline consumption rose by 28.4%, from a normal average of 12,943 KL to 16,625 KL per day. Meanwhile, gasoil consumption decreased by 10.2%, from 7,069 KL to 6,350 KL per day.
The peak gasoline consumption occurred on 19 March 2026, reaching 20,681 KL, in tandem with the increased use of private vehicles during the exodus period.
In the LPG sector, consumption also increased. The average daily LPG realisation rose by 6.7% from 4,854 metric tons (MT) per day to 5,179 MT per day. For the 3 kg subsidised LPG, consumption increased by 7.2% from 4,630 MT per day to 4,965 MT per day, while non-subsidised LPG decreased by 4.7% from 224 MT per day to 214 MT per day. The peak consumption occurred on 18 March 2026, reaching 5,424 MT.
Area Manager for Communication, Relations, & CSR in Regional Central Java, Taufiq Kurniawan, stated that Pertamina had anticipated the surge in consumption since the beginning of the Satgas RAFI period, including in facing the peak return flow.
“Regionally, Pertamina ensures that energy resilience remains maintained, with energy stock availability up to 29.2 times the average daily consumption,” Taufiq said in an official statement, quoted on Sunday (29/3/2026).
Taufiq explained that to support the smooth travel of the public, Pertamina also provided Serambi MyPertamina services at 19 strategic points along the exodus routes as additional rest areas offering free facilities, such as air-conditioned rest rooms, prayer rooms, health services, children’s play areas, and iftar provisions.
“Specifically in Central Java Region, there are 6 Serambi MyPertamina units spread across Rest Area 379 A, Rest Area KM 260 B, Rest Area KM 19 A, Ahmad Yani Airport, Yogyakarta International Airport, and Purwokerto Station,” Taufiq clarified.
According to Taufiq, in addition, the public can utilise the MyPertamina application to obtain information on the nearest fuel stations, fuel availability, and various available promotions.
“Pertamina invites the public to participate in the Energy Saving Movement by using fuel wisely and efficiently during travel, and not to engage in panic buying because stocks are in a safe condition and distribution is running normally,” Taufiq explained.
He added that through these various measures, Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Central Java reaffirms its commitment to maintaining the reliability of energy supply, not only during the Eid exodus and return period, “but also in the post-Satgas RAFI period to ensure that the public’s energy needs continue to be met sustainably,” Taufiq concluded.
