Tarumanagara University (Untar), through its Faculty of Medicine, held a Free Health Check Festival (Gebyar Cek Kesehatan Gratis) in collaboration with the West Jakarta Health Sub-department, involving the Grogol Petamburan and Palmerah Community Health Centres (Puskesmas) on 18-19 June 2026. The event, held at T-Space on the Untar Campus I, provided early detection services for various diseases to the academic community and the public. Services included dental, eye, and mental health examinations, as well as screenings for hypertension, obesity, diabetes, hepatitis, physical activity, IVA and SADANIS tests, lung function, and other non-communicable diseases. All examinations, including diabetes and hypertension screenings, were conducted by professional health workers free of charge.

Untar Rector Prof. Dr. Amad Sudiro stated that the free health check programme is a beneficial activity as health is a basic need of the community. He appreciated the cooperation between Untar and the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government through the West Jakarta Health Sub-department. He noted that easy and affordable access to health examinations can help people recognise their health conditions early, allowing disease risks to be managed more quickly. ‘We hope this activity can continue and make a real contribution to improving the quality of public health,’ he said.

Support was also voiced by the Tarumanagara Foundation through Secretary of the Board Vedrych J. Kusnanto, who emphasised that health is an aspect that requires attention and that public awareness of the importance of maintaining health must be continuously improved. Meanwhile, the Head of the West Jakarta Administrative City Health Sub-department, dr. Sahruna, expressed appreciation for the collaboration with Untar, stating that partnerships between universities and the government can support efforts to enhance health services for the community.

In addition to providing health examination services, the activity also prepared a follow-up mechanism for participants requiring further medical checks. Participants indicated to have certain health conditions received guidance for further examinations according to their medical needs. Through this activity, Untar supports the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly the third goal of Good Health and Wellbeing.
