Ramallah (ANTARA) - The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) has strongly condemned recent Israeli actions targeting its Qalandia Training Centre in occupied East Jerusalem.

According to a report from the UNRWA office in Ramallah on Saturday, the agency emphasised that the raids and illegal activities at the facility violate international law.

In its statement, UNRWA asserted that the training centre remains UN property, which must be respected and protected in accordance with international law.

According to the agency, the facility sustained damage while the occupying authorities of the Zionist regime were present. It also reported receiving accounts of individuals entering the area in an attempt to steal some of its contents.

UNRWA added that it has consistently emphasised the need to protect the centre and its assets, given its vital role in providing educational services and vocational training for Palestinian refugees.

The international agency also asserted that the occupying authorities have a legal obligation to immediately cease such actions and prevent the recurrence of similar incidents.

Furthermore, UNRWA reaffirmed its commitment to fully continuing educational activities at the Qalandia Training Centre.
