Unruly drivers
Unruly drivers
From Neraca
We are often irritated by the way the drivers of public buses behave on the roads. They like to overtake each other and pick up and drop passengers in inappropriate places.
It is worse still when a driver asks passengers to move to another bus, without showing the least feeling of remorse. Very often the receiving bus is already overloaded.
How could this irregularity happen? Maybe fines for violating traffic regulations are too small. Or perhaps more policemen must be made available to regulate the traffic and discipline unruly drivers.
I would suggest that a plainclothes policeman join ordinary passengers in a bus and report any traffic offense to other policemen through a radio transmitter. In this way drivers will think twice before they do anything to the disadvantage of innocent passengers.
