In June 2003, I bought a water filter guaranteed for one year
by PT Arya Buana Sejati, while the product itself carried the
name of another company, PT Griya Sentra Mandiri/Sentrafil. The
guarantee included clean filtered water and assistance in
laboratory examination.

In January 2004, the water being filtered turned muddy again,
and the phone number given was no longer in use. In March, a
certain Heru offered to repair the filter at a cost of Rp 50,000,
though free service was actually guaranteed.

As the repair failed to produce clean water, I again contacted
Heru and asked him if the firm's guarantee still applied. He
explained that Arya Buana Sejati no longer existed and Sentrafil
refused to be held responsible.

Consequently, the expensive filter, which is so intensely
promoted, has become scrap iron as nobody is willing to take
responsibility. Buyers of such filters should thus be
particularly careful because the quality and guarantee are not
commensurate with the price.
