Nvidia has secured orders amounting to US$1 trillion (Rp16.985 trillion) for its two flagship chips, Blackwell and Vera Rubin, with delivery schedules projected to run for up to two years ahead. Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang stated that demand for Blackwell and Vera Rubin has surged, both from large companies and startups. “If they can get additional capacity, they can deliver more tokens, their revenue will increase,” Huang said, as quoted by CNBC International on Monday (30/3/2025). Nvidia’s GPU chips are selling strongly amid the race among technology companies to develop and offer AI products. As a result, Nvidia’s share price has skyrocketed, boosting the company’s valuation to US$4.5 trillion (Rp76.432 trillion), the highest in the world. Jensen Huang is also benefiting from the rising share price he owns, making him one of the world’s richest people with wealth of US$158.6 billion (Rp2.7 quadrillion). Vera Rubin is a new chip that will be released at the end of this year. With 1.3 million components inside it, Vera Rubin is claimed to be able to increase performance per watt by up to ten times compared to its predecessor, Grace Blackwell. This improvement is very important for reducing AI processing electricity consumption in data centres worldwide. Last year, Nvidia projected revenue of US$500 million from sales of both chip technologies.
