Unravelling the International Online Gambling Syndicate in Hayam Wuruk: 321 Foreign Nationals Arrested, Billions Seized

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim) of the Indonesian National Police has dismantled an international online gambling (judol) syndicate at an office located in the Hayam Wuruk area, West Jakarta.

Director of General Criminal Offences (Dirtipidum) at Bareskrim Polri, Brigadier General Pol Wira Satya Triputra, stated that the uncovering of this case resulted from a lengthy investigation after police received information from the public regarding organised online gambling activities involving an international network.

The raid was conducted on Thursday (7/5/2026).

From this operation, 321 foreign nationals (WNA) were arrested.

In their operations, these foreign nationals performed various roles.

“Telemarketing, customer service, finance section, and possibly other roles will be further developed,” said Wira.

Wira added that out of the total 321 individuals, 275 have been designated as suspects.

The remainder are still undergoing further examination.

“For now, we have designated 275. The rest require more in-depth investigation. Because we must link the roles that are still under investigation,” said Wira.
