Unram Student Suspected Murdered, Ex-Boyfriend Questioned
The investigation into the suspected murder of Nadya Dwi Ramadhany, a 21-year-old Primary School Teacher Education (PGSD) student at Universitas Mataram (Unram), continues. Police have questioned over a dozen witnesses, including the victim’s ex-boyfriend.
‘Today, two witnesses were questioned, including the victim’s friend and her ex-boyfriend,’ said AKP I Made Dharma Yulia, Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit at Mataram City Police, on Monday (25 May 2026).
The ex-boyfriend’s identity has not been disclosed. Witness questioning is ongoing, with police having interviewed 14 individuals so far.
‘We have interviewed 14 witnesses and are still summoning those yet to be questioned,’ he said.
In addition to questioning witnesses, investigators have sent collected evidence from the case involving the student from Beru Village, Jereweh District, Sumbawa Regency, NTB, to the National Police Forensic Laboratory (Puslabfor) in Jakarta.
‘We have sent several samples to the National Police Forensic Laboratory in Jakarta for testing. Some items have already been submitted for analysis,’ he added.
The victim was found dead in her dorm room in Gomong, Selaparang District, Mataram City, NTB, on Sunday (17 May) evening. Police estimate she died between two to three days prior.
‘The victim is estimated to have died between two to three days ago,’ he said.
Selaparang Police Chief Inspector Iptu Zulharman Lutfi previously stated that the victim was first discovered dead by a friend who visited her dorm.
‘The victim’s friend became suspicious when unable to contact her,’ said Iptu Zulharman Lutfi on Monday (18 May).
According to witness statements, the victim contacted the witness early on Saturday (16 May). At that time, the witness was in Jakarta en route to Lombok.
After arriving in Lombok on Sunday (17 May) afternoon, the witness attempted to contact the victim again, but her phone was inactive. Later that evening, the witness and their cousin visited the dorm.
‘Upon arrival, the victim’s room was dark,’ the witness said.
The witness knocked on the door multiple times but received no response. The victim’s motorcycle was not present at the dorm.
‘The witness initially thought the victim was out, as her motorcycle was not visible,’ they added.
Due to suspicion, the witness left the location but later returned with friends to check on the victim.
‘When peering through the room’s ventilation using a flashlight, they saw the victim lying on her back and detected a foul odour,’ they said.
