Haikal, also known as HK, the perpetrator behind the murder of Mataram University (Unram) student Nadya Dwi Ramadhany (NDR), is currently 17 years old. Despite his age, the individual, who has previously been married, has a criminal record and has been imprisoned twice.

‘The perpetrator, with the initials HK, is still 17. He will turn 18 this August, on the 3rd,’ stated the Mataram City Police Chief, Kombes Hendro Purwoko, on Friday (31/07/2026). ‘The perpetrator is a recidivist who has been involved in theft cases twice,’ he added.

Haikal was arrested by police near the Punia Village Office in Mataram, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), on Wednesday (29/07). The arrest followed the police identification of the victim’s motorcycle, which had been stolen by Haikal. It was revealed that Haikal had been a fugitive for approximately two months and was attempting to escape to Malaysia.

‘The team successfully identified the evidence, specifically the victim’s motorcycle. The team conducted a search for the motorcycle and carried out surveillance on the perpetrator,’ said Hendro.

For context, Nadya was found dead in her boarding house in the Gomong area, Selaparang District, Mataram, on 17 May. The Unram student, originally from Beru Village, Jereweh District, Sumbawa Regency, NTB, was discovered by a friend who had gone to search for her. Nadya’s body was found lying on her back and had begun to emit an unpleasant odour. At the time, the victim’s room was locked, and her mobile phone and motorcycle were missing.
