The Rector of Universitas Mataram (Unram), Prof Sukardi, inaugurated two interim deputy rectors for the 2022-2026 period. The appointees are Prof Akmaluddin as Deputy Rector for Finance and General Affairs, and Dr Sitti Latifah as Deputy Rector for Planning, Cooperation, and Information Systems.

The inauguration of the two Unram deputy rectors took place on Friday (27/3). In his speech, Sukardi stressed the importance of integrity in managing Unram’s budget. He assessed the need for consistency between budget planning and implementation to align with set targets.

“Do not let a single rupiah go without an output basis. We must maintain integrity because what is being managed is state money. We must continue to apply budget efficiency and effectiveness,” Sukardi asserted in his statement on Saturday (28/3/2026).

According to Sukardi, speed of thinking and execution is crucial in maintaining organisational performance. Other focuses include retaining the Unqualified Opinion (WTP) predicate and strengthening the integrity zone through the Bureaucratic Reform Working Team.

“I emphasise the importance of quick responses to field problems, strengthening human resources, and following up on commitments from young lecturers to continue their studies as planned,” he said.

Sukardi also touched on the importance of campus reputation in striving towards World Class University (WCU) status. This includes strengthening international cooperation, such as joint degree programmes.

Furthermore, Sukardi believes that information systems must be integrated so that accreditation data, planning, and services can be managed in a unified manner. He hopes that the two new deputy rectors can lead Unram towards a world-class campus.

“Unram is optimistic about expanding international cooperation and supporting the vision of sustainable development through precision in budget management, digital transformation, and strengthening reputation towards World Class University,” Sukardi concluded.
