Unpatti Partners with US Firm to Develop AI for Education and Innovation
Universitas Pattimura (Unpatti) has partnered with US technology company G-Mango Inc to develop the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in education, research, and technological innovation, aiming to support human resource capacity building in Maluku and Eastern Indonesia. Unpatti Rector Prof. Freddy Leiwakabessy stated in Ambon on Wednesday that the collaboration with the Delaware-based health technology firm represents a strategic move for the university to expand its international network whilst strengthening AI-based technology development within higher education. “This cooperation is expected to assist communities, particularly in Maluku and Eastern Indonesia. G-Mango will develop an AI-based system that can support communication processes and data analysis, enabling the public to gain better access to information,” he said. He explained that the utilisation of AI not only supports the development of the health sector but can also be applied in learning processes, research, data management, and improving the quality of academic services at universities. Through this partnership, both parties will open opportunities for collaboration in joint research, digital innovation development, human resource capacity building, and the implementation of technology that is adaptive to the needs of society and the education sector. Freddy added that the cooperation with G-Mango Inc aligns with Unpatti’s commitment to continuously drive digital transformation on campus, whilst producing innovations that provide direct benefits to the community. G-Mango Inc is a technology company focused on developing digital health solutions, AI, and health software, which have been used to support the transformation of modern healthcare services. The partnership is expected to yield various AI-based innovations that support educational development, strengthen research and innovation, and enhance Unpatti’s competitiveness as a centre for science and technology development in Eastern Indonesia.
