Unpad States Foreign Female Student Victim of Harassment by Professor No Longer Studying

Universitas Padjadjaran (Unpad) has temporarily suspended a lecturer suspected of involvement in a sexual violence case within the campus environment. The university states that the victim is no longer studying at the campus.

“Regarding the follow-up, I do not have any updated information yet; an investigation is ongoing,” said Unpad’s Head of Public Relations, Dandi Supriadi, when confirmed on Saturday (18/4/2026).

“The victim is no longer studying at Unpad,” he added.

However, when asked about when the incident occurred, Supriadi could not provide further information.

“I do not have the information. Only the press release from yesterday that I can share,” he said.

Formation of Investigation Team

In addition to suspending the lecturer, Unpad has also formed an investigation team to conduct an objective and comprehensive probe, involving the Sexual Violence Prevention and Handling Task Force (Satgas PPKS) and Faculty Senate representatives.

He stated that the campus remains cautious in the proof process to avoid erroneous decisions, although bias remains towards the victim.

He emphasised that if violations are proven during the investigation, Unpad will impose sanctions in accordance with applicable regulations and legislation.

“Unpad will always pay close attention to the proof procedure through existing mechanisms to avoid erroneous decisions, although Unpad’s point of bias is towards the victim,” he stressed.

Unpad assures that the handling of violence is not only for this case but also part of comprehensive efforts to create a safe and conducive campus environment.

The campus also invites the entire community, including the academic community, to support efforts to prevent and handle violence in the higher education environment.

The alleged sexual violence case went viral on the social media platform X. IY, a professor from Unpad’s Faculty of Nursing (FKep), is suspected of asking a foreign female exchange student to send photos while wearing a bikini.
