Unpad Alumni Association Targets Top 300 Global University Ranking
The Chairman of the Universitas Padjaddaran Alumni Association (IKA Unpad), Ferry Juliantono, has set a target for Unpad to become the fifth-best university in Indonesia and join the ranks of the top 300 universities in the world. This commitment was announced during the 2026 Grand Alumni Reunion ‘Homecoming Festival - Returning to Jatinangor, Returning to Identity’ held at the Unpad Campus Red Field, Jatinangor, on Saturday (19/9).
In his address, Ferry emphasised that he would unite all the potential and strength of the alumni to assist Unpad in achieving this target. The series of activities was also enlivened by the Jatinangor Music Fest, featuring several well-known bands.
Ferry invited all alumni to continue contributing to the progress of Unpad, expressing his belief that alumni support can enhance the campus’s reputation at both national and global levels.
“We ask for everyone’s prayers and support; Unpad’s current position in Indonesia is sixth. Let us fight together so that our beloved Unpad can rise to the top 300 in the world and become one of the five best universities in Indonesia within the next one to two years,” Ferry stated in a written release on Sunday (20/9/2026).
He expressed his appreciation to the entire committee, the IKA Unpad management, and all related parties for the successful and festive execution of the IKA Unpad Anniversary peak event. Ferry hopes that similar events can be organised in the coming years with even greater fanfare.
According to reports from the West Java Regional Police, the number of attendees reached approximately 15,000 people, crowding the event area from afternoon until night. Given the high level of interest, IKA Unpad and the university authorities are exploring the possibility of making the Jatinaring Music Fest an annual event as part of the Universitas Padjadjaran Anniversary celebrations.
“Thank you to all the IKA Unpad management who organised this extraordinary event tonight, and to all alumni from various regions across Indonesia; tonight we are able to consolidate Unpad alumni from all places,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Alumni Partnership and Endowment Fund Office at Universitas Padjadjaran, Prita Amalia, stated that the grand reunion and music festival were designed as a platform for alumni to return to campus, strengthen ties, and receive the latest information regarding Unpad’s development.
Prita added that the committee would prepare even better and more festive events in the future to ensure a positive experience for both alumni and the academic community. She also commended the direct involvement of Ferry and the IKA Unpad committee in the long-term preparations.
“The hope is that we can organise similar activities every year. This way, alumni can return to their home, reconnect, meet old friends, and receive the latest information from Unpad, thereby fostering collaboration between alumni and the university,” Prita concluded.
