Unocal plans Thai investment
BANGKOK (Reuters): Unocal Thailand said on Tuesday it would
invest 12 billion baht (US$264 million) on crude oil production
in the Gulf of Thailand over the next six years.
"Unocal is trying its best to increase Thailand's energy self-
sufficiency," its president Randy Howard said in a statement.
Unocal had been producing natural gas and condensate in the
Gulf of Thailand since 1981 with current gas production average
more than one billion cubic feet per day, and condensate more
than 40,000 barrel per day.
