Unocal drills oil in Seno

EL SEGUNDO, Calif. (Dow Jones): Unocal Corp. (UCL) said three
intervals of a deepwater appraisal well in the West Seno field
offshore East Kalimantan, Indonesia, is flowing at a combined
rate of 19,344 barrels of oil and 18.6 million cubic feet of gas
a day.

In a press release Wednesday, the energy resource company said
the well, drilled in 3,101 feet of water, yielded 398 feet of
vertical oil and gas pay between 6,690 feet and 9,010 feet true
vertical depth subsea.

Unocal said its Unocal Makassar Ltd. unit plans to develop the
West Seno deepwater oil and gas field with its venture partner
Mobil Makassar Inc.

The West Seno field is one of several prospective areas in the
greater Seno structure of the Kutei Basin, the company said.
