Unnes Student Allegedly Sexually Harasses Three Jastip Customers

A student of Universitas Negeri Semarang (Unnes) has been accused of sexually harassing customers of his personal shopper service (jastip), leading to a confrontation by an angry mob. The university’s task force for the prevention and handling of violence (Satgas PPK) has identified three victims in the case.

“The Unnes PPK Task Force has handled this according to existing SOPs and regulations. The initial stage in responding to the report is to gather information from the complainant,” said Unnes Public Relations Head Surahmat, as quoted by detikJateng on Thursday (18/6/2026).

Surahmat stated that the case was taken up by the task force on Wednesday (17/6). The task force immediately summoned the complainant on the same day at 4:30 PM Western Indonesia Time to collect initial statements and evidence. “During the examination process, the task force identified three victims of sexual violence,” he said.

According to Surahmat, while the investigation was ongoing, an anonymous post appeared on social media platform X demanding that the alleged perpetrator issue a public apology to the victims. The suspect was also confronted by a mob in the early hours of the morning before being secured by the Semarang City Police (Polrestabes Kota Semarang).

He explained that the alleged perpetrator’s status as a Unnes student has not yet been suspended. The university is still conducting a thorough investigation before determining further legal steps against the student.
