Universitas Nusa Mandiri (UNM) has further strengthened the quality of its higher education. The university’s Doctoral Programme in Informatics has achieved an ‘Excellent’ accreditation from the Independent Accreditation Institute for Informatics and Computer Study Programmes (LAM INFOKOM), based on Decree Number 005/SK/LAM-INFOKOM/Ak.P/D/VII/2026. The accreditation is valid from 20 July 2026 to 20 July 2029. This achievement reinforces UNM’s position as a Digital Business Campus that delivers technology-based higher education while promoting research development to address the challenges of digital transformation.

Head of the Doctoral Programme in Informatics at UNM, Dr Nita Merlina, stated that the ‘Excellent’ accreditation is a recognition of the quality of education delivery as well as a mandate to continuously improve academic and research quality. ‘We interpret this not only as recognition of the programme’s quality, but also as an impetus to continue producing innovative, relevant research that contributes to the advancement of technology and digital business transformation,’ she said in a statement on Tuesday (11/8/2026).

According to her, the Doctoral Programme in Informatics at UNM is directed to become a superior, independent, and innovative programme in digital business transformation, with a scientific focus on Computer Vision and Biomedical Informatics. She added that UNM is developing these two fields to meet the growing needs of technological research. ‘We want doctoral students to be able to produce research that is novel, provides solutions to real problems, and contributes to the development of science and society,’ she explained.

The Doctoral Programme in Informatics at UNM serves as a space for academics, researchers, professionals, and technology enthusiasts to develop advanced informatics research. The strengthening of research is directed towards the utilisation of digital technology to produce innovations that are relevant to industrial developments and societal needs. As a Digital Business Campus, UNM continues to encourage an education and research ecosystem that integrates technology with the needs of the business world. The development of scientific knowledge at the doctoral level is expected to produce research that is not only academically robust but also capable of contributing to digital transformation. She added that the ‘Excellent’ accreditation must serve as motivation for the entire academic community to maintain quality and increase research productivity. ‘We want to strengthen research collaboration, scientific publications, innovation, and academic networks so that the Doctoral Programme in Informatics at UNM can increasingly contribute to technological development at both national and international levels,’ she said.

This accreditation achievement also opens opportunities for academics and professionals who wish to develop expertise in the field of Informatics through a doctoral education oriented towards research and innovation.
