UNM to Host IEEE YESIST12 2026, Bringing Global Young Innovators to Bekasi
Indonesia is set to host the IEEE YESIST12 Grand Finale 2026, a world-class technological innovation competition and forum. Universitas Nusa Mandiri (UNM), renowned as a Digital Business Campus, has been entrusted to organise the event, which will take place on 2-3 October 2026 at the BSI Convention Center, Kaliabang, North Bekasi, West Java.
This international forum, under the auspices of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), serves as a collaborative space for young talent. Students, young researchers, academics, and professionals from various countries will gather to develop technological solutions that create social impact and support the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Several competition categories will be held, including the Innovation Challenge Track, MakerFair Track, WePOWER Track, iENGAGE Track, Special Track, and the Junior Einstein Track. The ideas presented will focus on strategic issues, ranging from Artificial Intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT), and sustainable energy to digital health, educational technology, and smart cities.
The Rector of Universitas Nusa Mandiri, Prof. Dr. Dwiza Riana, stated that this appointment is both an honour and a significant opportunity for Indonesia. This momentum is expected to demonstrate the capacity of the younger generation to deliver innovations relevant to global societal needs.
“Hosting the IEEE YESIST12 Grand Finale 2026 is an honour for Universitas Nusa Mandiri and a great opportunity for Indonesia to showcase the potential of its youth on an international stage. We hope this forum produces innovations that are not only technologically superior but also provide a real impact on society and the environment,” said Prof. Dwiza in a written statement received on Thursday (9/9).
Prof. Dwiza added that this international collaborative event provides space for local talent to test their ideas and expand their networks with participants from various countries. This aligns with UNM’s commitment as a Digital Business Campus to encourage its academic community to be creators of solutions rather than mere users of technology.
“By bringing competition, collaboration, and knowledge exchange into a single forum, the IEEE YES_IST12 Grand Finale 2026 is expected to be a stage that brings fresh ideas together with real-world needs. From Indonesia, the innovations of the younger generation will be tested, brought together, and encouraged to transcend national borders,” she said.
The hosting of the IEEE YESIST12 Grand Finale 2026 is expected to not only strengthen the research and innovation ecosystem within higher education institutions but also affirm Indonesia’s active role in addressing global social and environmental challenges through the use of sustainable technology.
