UNM Students Create OOGIV, Advanced AI Capable of Automatically Converting PDFs and Videos into Exam Questions
Digital transformation in the education sector continues to foster new innovations. Students from Nusa Mandiri University (UNM), a Digital Business Campus, have introduced an Artificial Intelligence (AI) based startup named OOGIV. This platform is designed to assist teachers, lecturers, and educators in creating learning evaluation questions automatically within minutes.
The startup was developed by three Informatics students from Nusa Mandiri University: Ridho Ari S, Markus Hari Prima, and Muhammad Rizky Ardiansyah. OOGIV utilises AI technology to process various learning materials into multiple-choice or essay questions quickly, accurately, and relevantly.
Through the platform, users simply need to upload learning materials in the form of PDF files, images, text files (.txt), or YouTube video links. Subsequently, the AI system analyses the provided content and automatically generates questions according to the studied topic.
This innovation was born from the students’ observations of the challenges frequently faced by educators in preparing learning evaluation questions. The process of drafting questions, which usually requires significant time, can now be shortened with the assistance of artificial intelligence technology.
One of the founders of OOGIV, Ridho Ari S, explained that the startup was developed to support the acceleration of digital transformation in the education sector. “We observed that many educators have to allocate a considerable amount of time to create evaluation questions. Through OOGIV, we want to help them work more efficiently without reducing the quality of the evaluation material provided to students,” said Ridho.
According to Ridho, AI technology holds great potential to increase productivity in the educational world, not only in the learning process but also in the preparation of more effective evaluation materials. “With OOGIV, the process of creating questions that usually takes hours can be completed in just a few minutes. The hope is that educators can focus more on improving the quality of learning,” he added.
As a Digital Business Campus, UNM continues to encourage students to present technology-based innovations through various startup development programmes facilitated by the Nusa Mandiri Startup Center (NSC). This programme serves as a platform for students to develop creative ideas into digital solutions that benefit society.
The Head of NSC, Siti Nurlela, appreciated the innovation produced by the UNM Informatics students. According to her, OOGIV is a clear example of how students are able to utilise AI technology to meet the evolving needs of the education sector. “Startups like OOGIV demonstrate that Nusa Mandiri University students not only understand technology but are also capable of applying it to solve real problems in society. This is an innovation that is highly relevant to the needs of education in the digital era,” she stated in a press release received on Friday (5/6/2026).
She added that the NSC will continue to support the development of student startups so they can grow into competitive digital products with a broader impact. “The world of education needs more innovations like this. We hope OOGIV can continue to be refined and become a solution that helps educators improve the effectiveness of the learning process,” she said.
The emergence of OOGIV further reinforces UNM’s commitment as a Digital Business Campus in building an innovation and digital entrepreneurship ecosystem based on the latest technology. Through support for student startup development, UNM continues to produce digital talent ready to provide innovative solutions for society and industry in the era of artificial intelligence.
