The DISABI Smart Accessibility team from Universitas Nusa Mandiri (UNM), a Digital Business Campus, successfully completed the Progress Assessment (PKP2) for the 2026 Student Creativity Programme (PKM) on Wednesday (16/9). The student team presented the development of a digital solution designed to support accessibility for wheelchair users within public transportation services.

The DISABI innovation was developed through an integrated application approach to provide an informative, safe, and inclusive travel experience. The product has already secured Intellectual Property Rights (HKI) and was successfully disseminated to PT KAI Daop 1 Jakarta on 27 August 2026.

The Head of NEX.AI and team representative, Dr Ali Khumaidi, stated that the PKP2 serves as evidence that the DISABI concept has evolved into a prototype with real implementation potential.

“PKP2 is a momentum for us to prove the development of DISABI Smart Accessibility, from concept, prototype, and outputs, to the dissemination process. The feedback we received is invaluable for refining this innovation to ensure it remains relevant,” Dr Ali said in a press release received on Friday (25/9).

Meanwhile, the supervising lecturer, Johan Hendri Prasetyo, added that the strength of DISABI lies in integrating technology with the actual needs of people with disabilities. Johan encouraged the team to continue conducting user validation and strengthening collaborations with public transport partners.

“Through the achievement of IPR, the prototype, and the results of dissemination with PT KAI, the DISABI Smart Accessibility team is committed to refining the technical aspects of the product. This evaluation step is an important preparation for the team as they move towards the 2026 National Student Scientific Week (PIMNAS),” he said.
