Universitas Nusa Mandiri (UNM), a digital business campus, has achieved another national milestone. A student team named ‘Triple A’ won third place in the UI/UX Design category at the IndoCEISS 2026 National Competition, part of the IndoCEISS 2026 National Working Meeting. The competition took place on Tuesday, 30 June 2026, with winners announced on Friday, 10 July 2026. The accolade was awarded for their innovative work, ‘EcoSync – A Blockchain-Based Waste Processing Platform for Added Value’, a digital solution that integrates blockchain technology to create a transparent, accountable, and economically valuable waste management and bank system for the community. The Triple A team consists of Afra Nur Rafifah and Aqil Syafiq Ramadhan from the Informatics Study Programme, along with Muhammad Ahsan Rizqi from the Information Systems Study Programme. They outperformed dozens of teams from various universities across Indonesia by presenting a concept that merges technological innovation with environmental awareness. In the UI/UX Design category, participants were challenged to design a digital interface that is not only visually appealing but also user-friendly, accessible, and capable of providing real-world solutions. EcoSync was recognised for its intuitive user journey, informative data visualisation, and human-centred design approach focused on user needs in waste management. Dr Anton, Dean of the Faculty of Information Technology at UNM, commended the achievement as proof of the successful implementation of project-based learning and innovation within the campus. ‘The Triple A team’s success demonstrates that UNM students can deliver digital solutions relevant to societal needs,’ he stated in an official release on Tuesday (21/7/2026). As a Digital Business Campus, he noted, UNM consistently encourages students to think innovatively and collaboratively, producing work with practical value and competitiveness at both national and international levels. He added that this success stems from an academic ecosystem that supports student competency development through project-based learning, lecturer mentoring, integrated laboratory use, and various soft skills programmes aligned with the needs of the digital industry. ‘The collaboration between students from the Informatics and Information Systems programmes also shows that the best innovation arises from cross-disciplinary synergy. The combination of technical skills, systems analysis, and user experience design was key in developing EcoSync as a technology-based solution with community impact,’ he said. He further stated that this achievement reinforces UNM’s commitment to producing graduates who are not only academically excellent but also capable of generating innovations that address real challenges in the digital transformation era. ‘The success of the Triple A team at IndoCEISS 2026 is expected to inspire other students to continue creating, innovating, and bringing honour to the alma mater through national and international competitions,’ he emphasised.
