Universitas Nusa Mandiri (UNM) student Muhamad Rifal Rustia Padilah has secured the BAZNAS Santripreneur 2026 grant for his innovative business, Luminous, a casual clothing brand offering premium, modern-style t-shirts for young people. The second-semester Digital Business student’s success came after a competitive selection process in the BAZNAS Santripreneur programme, which aims to foster innovative young entrepreneurs who can deliver economic and social impact. Luminous’s business concept was deemed to have significant potential due to its combination of product quality, creative design, and growth opportunities within the local fashion industry. The brand champions a premium casual concept with minimalist and modern designs targeting the younger generation, prioritising comfort and a strong visual identity to meet the evolving fashion market. Muhamad expressed his gratitude for the trust placed in him through the funding. ‘I am very grateful to be a recipient of the BAZNAS Santripreneur 2026 grant. This funding is not just capital assistance, but also a form of trust in the business idea I am building. I hope Luminous can continue to grow into a competitive local fashion brand and inspire young people to dare to start a business while still in college,’ he said. Academic supervisor Johan Hendri Prasetyo noted that the achievement proves students can implement entrepreneurial knowledge into a business with economic value and long-term prospects. He added that the Santripreneur BAZNAS programme provides an excellent space for students to hone their skills in building innovative and sustainable businesses that positively impact society. ‘We hope this success motivates other students to dare to create and participate in various entrepreneurial competitions and funding programmes,’ Johan stated. Head of the Digital Business Study Programme, Lia Mazia, commended the achievement as a reflection of the success of an innovation and entrepreneurship-based learning process. She emphasised that the accomplishment demonstrates that Digital Business students possess not only academic ability but also the capacity to create innovative and competitive businesses. ‘We will continue to encourage students to build startups and digital-based businesses that provide economic benefits while addressing societal needs,’ she said. She affirmed that this achievement reinforces UNM’s commitment to producing adaptive, creative graduates with an entrepreneurial spirit. ‘Through a curriculum aligned with industry needs, students are encouraged to develop business ideas from an early stage via various incubation programmes, competitions, and entrepreneurial mentoring,’ she added. With the funding support, Luminous is expected to expand its market reach, increase production capacity, and strengthen its position as a local fashion brand favoured by young Indonesians.
