A lecturer from Universitas Nusa Mandiri (UNM) has been selected for the 2026 Inspiring Lecturer Program (ILP), a national development initiative organised by ParagonCorp to encourage academic innovation. Fajar Sarasati, a lecturer in the Digital Business study programme, qualified with a research proposal titled ‘Intelligent Resume Analyzer for Student Career Preparation Based on Machine Learning’. The innovation utilises artificial intelligence (AI) to help students improve their resumes and prepare for an increasingly competitive job market. The announcement of successful ILP 2026 participants took place from 10 to 12 June, marking the start of a development programme that will run until the end of the year. The programme attracted significant interest, involving 5,980 lecturers from 1,692 higher education institutions across 38 provinces in Indonesia. Fajar explained that the research idea stemmed from the reality that many students and fresh graduates struggle to present their competencies effectively in their resumes, despite possessing strong skills and experience. ‘The resume is the initial gateway that determines a candidate’s chance to proceed to the next selection stage,’ Fajar stated. The Intelligent Resume Analyzer is designed to automatically assess resume documents based on various parameters, including completeness of information, relevance of skills, work experience, and suitability for the targeted position. The system provides improvement recommendations to help students enhance the quality of their application documents. ‘Technology should not only make work easier but also help people develop. We hope this innovation can support students in planning their careers more thoroughly while increasing graduate competitiveness in the era of digital transformation and artificial intelligence,’ Fajar added. Lia Mazia, Head of the Digital Business Study Programme at UNM, expressed her appreciation for the achievement, noting that it demonstrates how lecturers act not only as educators but also as innovators providing solutions to societal challenges. She emphasised that utilising AI to support student career readiness is a highly strategic step with tangible impact for the education sector. As a Digital Business Campus, UNM continues to promote a culture of research, innovation, and the application of digital technology. Following the selection, ILP 2026 participants will undergo training and workshops from June to July 2026, followed by graduation and selection of the Top 100 participants in August, with research mentoring and publication continuing until December 2026. The university hopes the Intelligent Resume Analyzer research will evolve into a digital solution that helps students plan their career strategies more effectively and improves the quality of Indonesian graduates in the AI era.
