JAKARTA — The sweeping digital transformation has increased demand across industries for graduates of Information Systems programmes. Career opportunities are expanding as companies seek specialists able to bridge technology solutions and business needs.

Universitas Nusa Mandiri (UNM), which describes itself as a Digital Business Campus, is continuing to strengthen its Information Systems curriculum. The initiative is designed to equip students with systems analysis skills, an understanding of business processes and adaptable technology capabilities.

Maruloh, head of UNM’s Rawamangun campus, said companies are now looking for talent that is not only technically proficient but also able to solve operational problems efficiently.

“Companies today need not only people who understand technology, but also those who can understand how technology can be used to address business problems,” he said in a statement received on Thursday (22 October).

Echoing this view, UNM Information Systems programme head Dr Sukmawati Anggraeni Puteri emphasised the importance of students developing a dual skill set. She said an in-depth understanding of users’ needs was key to the successful implementation of systems in industry.

“Information Systems graduates play a strategic role as designers of digital solutions focused on business value,” Dr Sukmawati said.

She added that students not only learn to design systems, but also develop their communication and analytical skills to prepare for competitive professional careers.

“To strengthen career readiness, UNM offers the Internship Experience Programme (IEP) 3+1, supported by more than 300 national and multinational corporate partners. Under the programme, students spend three years studying on campus and one year undertaking an industry internship to gain professional experience before graduating,” she said.

The combination of academic understanding and practical experience is expected to produce innovative graduates ready to compete in the digital era. Applications are now open for new students to join UNM’s Information Systems programme, offering a first step towards careers in technology and business.
