Universitas Nusa Mandiri (UNM), a Digital Business campus, conducted an official visit to the Badan Standardisasi Nasional (BSN) on Wednesday 11 February 2026. The meeting, held in the Malabar Meeting Room, Building 2, BSN, Floor 1, in the Science and Technology Park (KST) Puspiptek, South Tangerang, marked the initial step in exploring strategic cooperation in standardisation, education, and the development of students and faculty competencies.

The UNM delegation was led by Arif Hidayat, Vice-Rector II for Non-Academic Affairs, together with Muhammad Faisal and Panggah Muanif. On the BSN side, the visit was welcomed by Arini Widyastuti, Heri Kurniawan, and the BSN Competency Development and Cooperation team.

During the meeting, both parties discussed various collaboration opportunities, ranging from integrating standardisation materials into the curriculum, delivering public lectures, Training of Trainers (ToT), developing standardisation e-learning, to plans to establish a BSN Corner on campus. In addition, internships, final-year research projects, and synergies in the development of MSMEs and the implementation of sectoral standards-based regulations were discussed.

Arif said that this cooperation aligns with UNM’s commitment to strengthening the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, particularly education and research relevant to industry needs and national regulations.

“Standardisation is a crucial foundation for enhancing graduates’ competitiveness, particularly in Digital Business, information technology, and global trade. Synergy with BSN will enrich the curriculum and provide access to competencies at national to international scale for students,” Arif said in a press release received on Friday 6 March 2026.

Meanwhile, Arini welcomed the collaboration initiative with Universitas Nusa Mandiri.

“BSN is open to collaborating with higher education institutions in the dissemination and implementation of standardisation. Through e-learning, public lectures, and internship programmes, students are expected to understand the role of standards in supporting national development,” she said.

One strategic point discussed was the utilisation of the BSN e-learning platform, which could be accessed free of charge by UNM students once the official cooperation is in place.

“BSN also opens opportunities to participate as judges in international competitions and support for the development of artificial intelligence (AI) and standardisation-based research,” Arini added.

The meeting also emphasised that cooperation can be realised directly through a Cooperation Agreement (PKS) without the need to begin with a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), enabling faster and more flexible programme implementation.

Through this visit, UNM hopes to establish a sustainable collaboration with BSN that will not only enhance students’ competencies but also contribute to strengthening the national standardisation ecosystem.
