JAKARTA — Two representatives of Universitas Nusa Mandiri (UNM), Dr Anton, Dean of the Faculty of Information Technology, and Arfhan Prasetyo, Head of the undergraduate Informatics programme, attended the Google Digital Ecosystem Curriculum Partnership event organised by LLDIKTI Region III. Held at the Google Indonesia Office in SCBD, South Jakarta, on Tuesday (27 October), the event focused on strengthening the digital ecosystem in higher education.

UNM, known as a Digital Business Campus, continues to strengthen the integration of modern technology into its learning process. Its participation is a strategic step towards adopting artificial intelligence (AI) to create an adaptive academic environment ready to compete in the digital era.

The event was opened by Google for Education Indonesia Country Lead Olivia Husli Basrin and attended by the Head of LLDIKTI Region III, Dr Henri Togar Hasiholan Tambunan. Alongside discussions on data security and the dangers of Shadow AI, participants took part in a workshop on integrating Gemini technology to create interactive teaching materials and support cloud collaboration.

Arfhan Prasetyo welcomed the strategic collaboration between a global technology provider and higher education institutions.

“Adopting a digital ecosystem and safe AI technology is crucial to updating the Informatics curriculum,” he said in a statement received on Thursday (29 October).

He said the partnership would ensure that UNM’s academic community not only uses AI responsibly, but also develops competency standards relevant to today’s industry needs.

As a follow-up, UNM plans to involve lecturers and students in the Gemini Academy programme to obtain international certification.

“This step is expected to help meet the 2026 Key Performance Indicators (IKU) while producing excellent graduates skilled in the latest technologies,” he said.
