UNM and BatStateU in the Philippines Launch Cross-Border COIL Technopreneurship Programme
Universitas Nusa Mandiri (UNM) and the Philippines’ Batangas State University (BatStateU) officially launched the Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL)-Technopreneurship programme via Zoom on Friday (9 October 2026).
The programme began with a Joint Opening and Orientation. It marks a concrete step by the two universities to broaden students’ global perspectives. Through virtual classrooms, students from UNM and BatStateU can learn together without geographical boundaries.
Under the theme “Bridging Ideas. Cultivating Innovation. Building a Global Future”, the orientation focuses on developing creativity and innovation in technology-based businesses. Students are encouraged to exchange ideas, practise cross-cultural communication and strengthen international teamwork.
Dr Ali Khumaidi, head of NEX.Ai and a representative of UNM’s facilitators, said the COIL method offers students an inclusive international experience. “Through this COIL programme, our students can experience a global learning environment and build international networks directly from the classroom, without having to travel abroad,” Dr Ali said in a statement received on Monday (12 October 2026).
“We hope this collaboration will generate innovative technopreneurship ideas that are relevant to the needs of today’s digital industry,” Dr Ali said.
The programme is led by Aries N Rabi of BatStateU and facilitated by Cruzette A Calzo on behalf of BatStateU, together with Dr Ali Khumaidi and Fitra Septia Nugraha from UNM. “This cross-border learning initiative underscores UNM’s commitment as a Digital Business Campus to providing adaptive education with a global outlook. We hope this sustained partnership will help produce young entrepreneurs ready to compete on the international stage,” Dr Ali said.
