United Tractors Jan-May heavy equipment sales up 42 percent
Jakarta (ANTARA News/Thomson Financial) - PT United Tractors Tbk said on Friday it sold 1,987 heavy equipment units in the first five months of this year, up 42 percent from a year ago.
United Tractors is Indonesia's biggest distributor of heavy equipment, with a market share of 45.2 percent in the first five months.
It sells the Komatsu brand and also has interests in mine contracting and the coal business.
The company said its PT Pamapersada Nusantara unit produced 24.3 million tonnes of coal in the first five months of this year from contracted mining projects, compared to 19.3 million tonnes in the same period last year.
Meanwhile, its PT Dasa Eka Jasatama unit, which produces coal from its own mines, sold 1.72 million tonnes of coal in the first five months. No comparative figures were given.
