United States and Israel Attack Iran; Ayatollah Khamenei: Iran Will Triumph Over Zionists by God's Will

Combined forces of the United States and Israel launched an attack on the heart of the capital of the Islamic Republic of Iran. The Iranian government responded by launching missiles in retaliation. Before the attack occurred, Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, posted on his X account @khamenei.ir, citing Quranic verses from Surah As-Saff Verse 13, stating that the Islamic Republic will triumph over the Zionist regime by God’s will.

Surah As-Saff Verse 13 concerns the assistance of God and a victory drawing near.

God the Almighty declares:

وَاُخْرٰى تُحِبُّوْنَهَاۗ نَصْرٌ مِّنَ اللّٰهِ وَفَتْحٌ قَرِيْبٌۗ وَبَشِّرِ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ

Wa ukhrā tuḥibbūnahā, naṣrum minallāhi wa fatḥun qarīb(un), wa basysyiril-mu’minīn(a).

(There is) another (reward) which you love—help from God and an imminent victory. Give glad tidings to the believers. (Qur’an, Surah As-Saff, Verse 13).
