REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BANDUNG – In anticipation of the holy month of Ramadan, Bandung Islamic University (Unisba) is launching a special programme called ‘Unisba’s Ramadan Blessings’ as a way to expand access to education.

Through this programme, prospective new students who re-register during the Ramadan period will receive a 20 per cent discount on the total tuition fees for the first year of the new academic year.

This programme is open to all undergraduate programmes except for the Medical programme. ‘Unisba’s Ramadan Blessings’ is a form of Unisba’s commitment to expanding access to quality higher education.

‘We believe that Ramadan is the right time to open more doors of opportunity and provide convenience for prospective students who want to continue their education to a higher level,’ said the Head of the Admissions Department at Unisba, Arbaiyah Satriani, quoted on Thursday (26/2/2026).

This promotion is part of Unisba’s Wave 1 New Student Admissions (PMB). The promotion takes the form of a cash back in the form of a 10 per cent reduction in the University Development Endowment (IPU) and a 10 per cent reduction in the Fixed Tuition Fee (IKT).

The requirement to receive this promotion is that new students must make a 100 per cent registration payment in one go (not in instalments). The cash back will be given when students enter their second semester.

According to Arbaiyah, Unisba is currently in Wave 1 of the New Student Admissions until 26 February 2026. The selection of prospective new students will be held on 28 February 2026 for the Entrance Examination programme (USM), and the announcement of the results of Wave 1 of the New Student Admissions will be made on 6 March 2026.

Those who pass in Wave 1 of the New Student Admissions will be able to take advantage of the 20 per cent discount promotion for Unisba’s Ramadan Blessings.

In addition, she added, there are prospective students who have passed the Wave 1 PMDK programme (the announcement was made on 20 February 2026) who can also take advantage of this incentive. ‘We encourage prospective students who have passed the selection to take advantage of this opportunity.’

Opening a Specialist Obstetrics and Gynaecology Programme

Furthermore, Arbaiyah said that Unisba is opening a Specialist Obstetrics and Gynaecology programme. The presence of this programme is a strategic step in answering the need for specialist doctors, especially in the field of maternal and child health in West Java.

The opening of this programme is based on the Decree of the Minister of Higher Education, Science and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia Number 119/B/2026 concerning the Permit for the Opening of the Obstetrics and Gynaecology Specialist Programme at the Bandung Islamic University in the City of Bandung, which is organised by the Bandung Islamic University Foundation.

According to Arbaiyah, the opening of the specialist obstetrics and gynaecology programme at Unisba is a strategic step for the university in supporting the development of the health sector.

‘We want to be part of the solution. Quality specialist doctor education is key to improving the quality of public health services,’ she said. This specialist programme is one of the forms of contribution.

The opening of this new programme will begin in the even semester of the 2025/2026 academic year, and the process of registering new students is currently underway. After going through a series of selection stages over the next week, the accepted students will begin their studies at the end of March 2026.
