Universitas Islam Bandung (Unisba) continued its refreshment of leadership at the faculty level, inaugurating five deans on Wednesday, 4 March. The ceremony was conducted by Unisba Rector Prof A Harits Nu’man. The five deans will lead for the 2026–2030 term. The event was attended by the foundation’s leadership and university officials, as well as Unisba’s administrative ranks.

The five deans appointed were: Asep Ahmad Siddiq, Dean of the Faculty of Da’wah; Prof Nan Rahminawati, Dean of the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training; Dewi Rosiana, Dean of the Faculty of Psychology; Rini Rinawati, Dean of the Faculty of Communication Science; and Prof Sri Fadilah, Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business.

In his address, Rector Harits expressed gratitude to the outgoing deans for their dedication and achievements. “Leadership is not only about personal achievement, but the benefits felt by the academic community, including improvements to study programme rankings and lecturers’ careers,” he said.

To the new deans, he urged them to continue and strengthen existing achievements, and to increase student numbers through collaboration and by strengthening public trust.

Enhancing academic quality

The Rector also emphasised Unisba’s commitment to producing graduates who excel in science and religion, grounded in the Spirit 3M (Mujahid, Mujtahid, Mujaddid) and the IMAN values (Islamic Spirit, Maintenance and Sustainability, Adaptability, as well as National and Globalisation).

Looking ahead, Unisba will focus on improving academic quality and securing exemplary accreditation, strengthening professional and accountable governance, and boosting its international reputation. “Currently, 18 of 36 study programmes or 50% have achieved Excellent Accreditation,” he noted.

Meanwhile, the Chair of the Unisba Foundation’s Board of Trustees, Prof KH Miftah Faridl, expressed appreciation for the outgoing deans and urged the officeholders to carry out their duties with responsibility and sincerity. The religious scholar also underscored the importance of faith, honesty, patience, and resilience in carrying out duties and facing challenges.

At the ceremony, in acknowledgment of the departing deans, the Rector presented an honorarium in the Rector’s meeting room.
