UNISA Bandung Students Offer Social Solutions Through Curriculum Project Exhibition
A total of 32 groups of students from Universitas ‘Aisyiyah Bandung displayed various innovative works in a Project Exhibition for the University’s Compulsory Curriculum (MKWK) themed ’Actualisation of Islamic and National Values in Answering Social Problems’. The activity provided a space for students to implement Project Based Learning through creative educational videos and reflective essays addressing various social issues.
Maisa Azizah Asmara, Chair of the MKWK Project Exhibition, stated that the exhibition is part of the implementation of learning designed to integrate the learning outcomes of the compulsory curriculum with contextual learning experiences. Through this activity, students are encouraged not only to understand theory in the classroom but also to actualise Islamic and national values in the form of creative solutions to various social problems.
Maisa explained that enthusiasm among students for this year’s event was very high. A total of 32 groups from various study programmes successfully completed learning projects consisting of creative educational videos and reflective essays. ‘Participants came from the Midwifery, Nursing, Tourism, International Trade, and Visual Communication Design Study Programmes. The diverse works displayed raised social issues through creative, reflective, and solution-oriented approaches, while also serving as a means to develop critical thinking, collaboration, communication, creativity, and character strengthening for students,’ said Maisa on Wednesday (22/07/2026).
Maisa also noted that all exhibited works had undergone an assessment process by lecturers. The assessment was based on thematic relevance, integration of MKWK values, creativity, presentation quality, and the depth of reflection in each work.
Vice Rector I of Universitas ‘Aisyiyah Bandung, Ami Kamila, appreciated the students’ spirit in producing works born from the project-based learning process. According to her, this experience is an important part of shaping graduates who not only possess academic competence but are also capable of delivering solutions to various problems in society. ‘We hope that the values learned through the MKWK Project do not stop at the learning process in class or the work exhibition alone, but can be internalised within each student and implemented in daily life as a manifestation of the character of Universitas ’Aisyiyah Bandung graduates,’ she said.
She added that project-based learning is one approach that encourages students to develop social sensitivity while integrating Islamic, national, and professional values in every learning process. Through this experience, students are expected to become agents of change who make a real contribution to society.
