Uniform of corruption

Uniform of corruption

From Rakyat Merdeka

From the Buloggate II corruption case involving the chairman of the Golkar Party, Akbar Tandjung, we can conclude that big and small-time corruptors have mobilized their forces within the party. The perpetrators of corruption always seem to wear Golkar-sewn, New Order-cut uniforms.

Corruption is deeply rooted in our country as a network of sorts. Those engaged in corruption have lost their ability to feel ashamed. The Singapore-based Political and Economic Research Consultancy is correct when naming Indonesia as the most corrupt country in Asia. The new paradigm voiced by Golkar members is only the rhetoric of reform, intended to protect millions of New Order corruptors.

As Akbar Tandjung is now being detained by the Attorney General's Office, Golkar can no longer hide its true identity as a party that does not consistently uphold the law.
